ATHLETE’S VILLAGE
Athlete’s Village is located inside the Statehouse Convention Center Hall I and II on Sunday. Athlete’s Village hosts gear check, family reunion area, massage area, as well as Official Finisher’s Merchandise. Pat’s Kitchen will have a concession stand open and selling food and beverages.
The Athlete’s Village area will also have a large video screen, with a live feed of the start/finish line. This will allow friends and family to stay inside, out of any weather conditions, while waiting for their athlete.
GEAR CHECK
Gear Check is located in Athlete’s Village inside the Statehouse Convention Center (Hall I & II). Gear Check will only accept the clear plastic bag received at packet pick-up. If you arrive at the “Athlete-Only” Start Area with any other bag, box, luggage, backpack etc., that you wanted to take to Gear Check, you will have the opportunity to transfer your items into a clear Gear Check bag. Your other bag will need to be returned to your car, hotel room or left with a friend or family member. These rules are enforced to create as safe an environment as possible.
Each participant may leave one bag at gear check on race day. Only the clear plastic gear check bags given to participants at packet pick up will be accepted. Other bags will NOT be accepted. Please write your race number on the outside of gear check bag with a durable marker. After the finish line area closes, all unclaimed bags will be donated to a local charity on race day. All bags must be picked up by 2:00 pm. No exceptions. The Little Rock Marathon is not responsible for bags that are not picked up. All items must be in a bag with participant’s race number written on the outside of the bag. Volunteers will NOT accept loose keys or a cell phone. Those items must be in a bag and properly identified.
SECURED FINISH ZONE
Once athletes cross the finish line, they will enter the secured finish area, which is closed to the non-credentialed public. This area is located on LaHarpe Blvd. and extends inside the Statehouse Convention Area. Spectators are not allowed into the finish area.
Athletes will be awarded their finisher’s medal, combo medal (Sunday only if applicable), as well as receive water, Gatorade Endurance Formula, post-finish food, and medical attention if needed. Official finish photos are also taken in this area. Athletes will exit this area into Athlete’s Village.
SPECTATOR ACCESS
Spectators wishing to watch their athlete cross the finish line can do so on LaHarpe Blvd. Bleachers are located at the finish line. Bleachers can be accessed through Hall I. Access to the finish line is not available by entering LaHarpe from Markham/President Clinton.
Spectators are strongly encouraged to meet their athlete inside Athlete’s Village.
FAMILY REUNION AREA
The easiest way to find family and friends after the race on Sunday is to have a plan beforehand. A great place to meet up post-race is at the family reunion area inside Athlete’s Village.
