ATHLETE’S VILLAGE
The Athlete’s Village is located inside Hall I and II of the Statehouse Convention Center on Sunday. The Athlete’s Village hosts gear check, the family reunion area, post-race stretching area, and Official Finisher’s Merchandise. Concessions will also be available.

The Athlete’s Village features a large video screen with a live feed of the start and finish line, allowing friends and family to stay indoors and out of the weather while waiting for their athlete.

GEAR CHECK – Sunday Only
Gear Check will be located in Athlete’s Village inside Halls I & II of the Statehouse Convention Center on race day.

Only the clear plastic gear check bag provided at packet pickup will be accepted. If you arrive in the athlete-only start area with another type of bag (backpack, suitcase, box, etc.), you’ll need to transfer your items into an official clear gear check bag before drop-off.  Any non-approved bags must be taken back to a car, hotel, or left with a friend or family member.

A few important reminders:

  • One bag per participant is allowed at gear check
  • Only official clear bags will be accepted
  • Write your race number clearly on the outside of the bag with a permanent marker
  • Loose items (like keys or phones) will not be accepted—they must be inside your bag
  • All bags must be picked up by 2:00 pm on race day
  • Any unclaimed bags after that time will be donated to a local charity
  • The event is not responsible for bags not retrieved

These rules are in place to keep the area safe, organized, and moving smoothly on race day.

SECURED FINISH ZONE

After crossing the finish line, athletes enter a secured finish area on LaHarpe Blvd., which extends into the Statehouse Convention Center. This area is restricted to credentialed individuals only, and spectators are not permitted.

Inside the finish area, athletes will receive their finisher’s medal, and—on Sunday when applicable—a combo medal. They’ll also be provided water, Gatorade Endurance Formula, and post-race food. Medical support will be available if needed, and official finish line photos will be taken on site.

Once athletes have completed these post-finish services, they will exit into Athlete’s Village for gear check, recovery, and family reunion.

SPECTATOR ACCESS
Spectators who want to watch athletes finish can view the race along LaHarpe Blvd., where bleacher seating is available at the finish line. These bleachers are accessible through Hall I of the Statehouse Convention Center.

Important access note: spectators cannot enter the finish area via LaHarpe from Markham/President Clinton.

For the easiest experience, spectators are strongly encouraged to plan to reunite with their athlete inside Athlete’s Village after the race, rather than at the finish line itself.

FAMILY REUNION AREA
The easiest way to find family and friends after the race on Sunday is to have a plan beforehand.  A great place to meet up post-race is at the family reunion area inside Athlete’s Village.
